'Battlestar Galactica' Actress Joins New 'Riddick'

Katee Sackhoff

As the third "Riddick" film moves closer to its target production start date, the casting process is starting to pick up steam. A "Battlestar Galactica" alum and "Columbiana" star are both in talks to play major roles in the project. Meanwhile, a new actor heads "Inside Llewyn Davis," "Bruce Almighty" gets a real sequel and Lindsay Lohan begins negotiations to play a major Hollywood actress.

Today is January 10, and you're tuning into today's casting call.

Katee Sackhoff And Jordi Mollà In Talks For "Riddick"

Two new names are in negotiations to join production on the upcoming third installment of "Riddick." Deadline has learned that "Battlestar Galactica" star Katee Sackhoff is in final negotiations to play the female lead in the flick opposite Vin Diesel, while Variety is reporting that "Columbiana" actor Jordi Mollà has entered talks to be the film's head villain. No actors other than Diesel have come on board the project officially, but Andreas Apergis, Bokeem Woodbine, Dave Bautista, and Karl Urban have all been rumored to be interested in the flick.

Garrett Hedlund Lands "Inside Llewyn Davis"

Variety has the news that Garrett Hedlund is the latest actor to join the ranks of the Coen brothers' upcoming folk music flick, "Inside Llewyn Davis." The "Tron: Legacy" star likely got the part after he showed off his singing chops in "Country Strong." Hedlund will be joining Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, Justin Timberlake and John Goodman. No news yet on what role he'll be playing or when the flick will hit theaters.

New "Bruce Almighty" Sequel Being Written

Forget Evan, because Bruce is back. Variety has learned that Universal is in the process of developing a new installment of the "Bruce Almighty" series that will star Jim Carrey. Carrey starred in the 2003 film of the same name, but it was Steve Carell who starred in 2007's flop "Evan Almighty." Now the series will return to Carrey's TV reporter once more, though we'll hopefully get a cameo from Carell in there somewhere.

Lindsay Lohan To Play Elizabeth Taylor In New Movie?

The last time Lindsay Lohan was prepping to make a biopic about a famous Hollywood actress, she was in talks to play porn star Linda Lovelace in "Inferno." The role has since gone to Malin Akerman, but now Lohan is discussing playing a different leading lady: Elizabeth Taylor. MTV News reports that Lohan is negotiating to star in "Elizabeth & Richard: A Love Story," an upcoming Lifetime movie. The film will chronicle the tumultuous relationship between Taylor and Richard Burton.

Blake Lively, Channing Tatum And Jude Law Get "The Side Effects"

Channing Tatum and Steven Soderbergh must really like each other, because now they're gearing up to reteam for the third time. The Playlist is reporting that the duo are planning to work together on Soderbergh's upcoming film "The Side Effects," which could also star Blake Lively and Jude Law. None of the leads are officially signed on yet, but The Playlist says deals are "imminent." The film follows a woman who uses prescription drugs to soothe her anxiety over her husband's impending release from prison.

Paul Rudd To Join "Parks And Recreation" For Short Arc

In the effort of full disclosure, I have to say up front that I'm a firm believer that "Parks and Recreation" is one of the best shows on television right now. That's why I'm over the moon about the fact that a new hilarious celebrity is going to be making a short guest appearance in the show's upcoming episodes. Vulture is reporting that Paul Rudd will be playing the nemesis of Leslie Knopp (Amy Poehler) in the impending political election. Honestly, it sounds like a totally awesome faceoff.
