The Hollywood Reporter has learned that the duo are in talks to join the project as Carell’s love interest and longtime partner who quits their Las Vegas magician act, respectively. Jim Carrey and James Gandolfini are also in negotiations to come on board. “Burt Wonderstone” is scheduled to begin filming in January.

Octavia Spencer Joins Diablo Cody Directorial Debut
The Hollywood Reporter has learned that “The Help” actress Octavia Spencer will join Julianne Hough and Russell Brand in Diablo Cody’s currently-untitled directorial debut. Previously called “Lamb of God,” the movie follows a conservative religious woman who loses her faith after a plane crash, heads to Vegas to be a sinner, and then finds her faith again. Spencer is a card dealer at the casino Brand works at.
“Now You See” Michael Caine In New Movie
Michael Caine is joining the ranks of Louis Letterier’s heist-thriller “Now You See Me,” according to The Playlist. He’ll be joining Dave Franco, Woody Harrelson, Morgan Freeman, Isla Fisher, Mark Ruffalo, Melanie Laurent and Jesse Eisenberg in the flick. The magician thriller will hit theaters on January 18, 2013.
Jeremy Irvine To Play A Young “The Railway Man”
“War Horse” star Jeremy Irvine has been tapped by Jonathan Teplitzky to play a young Colin Firth in their new World War II drama “The Railway Man.” The Hollywood Reporter has the news that Irvine will play a young Eric Lomax, the man who wrote the memoir that the film is based on. The movie recounts Lomax’s experience working on Japan’s Death Railway in World War II.
Genesis Rodriguez Joins “The Last Stand”
The actors continue flocking to Kim Jee-woon’s action flick “The Last Stand.” Variety has learned that Genesis Rodriguez is the latest to join the movie as an FBI agent partnered with another who is being played by Eduardo Noriega. They’ll join Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jaimie Alexander, Forest Whitaker and Harry Dean Stanton in the film.
Anthony LaPaglia Comes On Board “Django Unchained”
Deadline has learned that Anthony LaPaglia is the latest to join up with Quentin Tarantino’s flick “Django Unchained.” He’ll play the leader of greedy slave-trafficking Australians who encounters titular slave-turned-bounty hunter, Django. LaPaglia and Joseph Gordon-Levitt will play brothers in the film.
