James Cameron Explains Sigourney Weaver’s ‘Avatar’ Return

Nobody is dead forever in James Cameron’s sci-fi universe, so don’t expect Sigourney Weaver to be sitting out of “Avatar 2.”

“When you have a science-fiction series, a science-fiction franchise, you’re never dead, unless your DNA is expunged from the universe. And then there’s always time travel!” he explained in an interview with Vulture. ”

But that’s not his only explanation for how the late Doctor Grace Augustine might return to the “avatar” universe: “Have you ever heard of nonlinear storytelling? A lot happens on that planet before she shows up, and before Jake shows up to join her. She’s there for fifteen years ahead of time.”

Javier Bardem Confirmed For “Bond 23″
It’s not a huge surprise that Javier Bardem is finally, finally confirmed for “Bond 23,” rumored to be called “Skyfall.” In an interview with Nightline, Bardem shared about his villain role, “I am very excited, my parents took me to watch the movies, and I saw all of them, and to play that is going to be fun. They chose me to play this man, but I cannot give you many details.” French actress Berenice Marlohe is also confirmed to be the flick’s Bond girl, but Ralph Fiennes’ casting is still up in the air.

Fox Nabs “Rentaghost”
If you’re a fan of the collaborations Ben Stiller has done with his “Night at the Museum” writers Tom Lennon and Robert Garant, then you’re going to really like this news. Deadline has learned that Fox bought the trio’s script for “Rentaghost” with the hopes that it would replicate the success of “Night at the Museum.” The remake is based on he 1976-84 British kids series of the same name. Russell Brand was originally supposed to star in the flick.

Cam Gigandet Gets A “Free Ride” With Anna Paquin
Variety has learned that “Twilight” star Cam Gigandet is the latest actor to join the indie drama “Free Ride.” He will play the love interest of Anna Paquin in the Shana Sosin-directed film. The movie follows the true story of a single mother who moves her kids to Florida to make a life for herself in the late ’70s.
