No 'Bourne' Cameo For Matt Damon, It's Straight On To 'Elysium'

Matt Damon might be trying to fight off some deadly illness in "Contagion," but he won't be fighting off bad guys any longer as the key actor in the "Bourne" franchise.

So that means as Jeremy Renner picks up where Damon left off in "The Bourne Legacy," fans of the blockbusters are assured from the Oscar winner himself that he won't have any part in those films. But other Bourne flicks, well, that's another story.

"No I have no idea about any of it. All I know is that it doesn’t preclude Paul [Greengrass] and me from doing another one of ours," he teased so brazenly. "No, no [you won't see me in the background of the new one]. He's got a whole other thing that they're doing and I wish them well and Tony [Gilroy's] really smart. I'm sure they're going to be great."

These days, Damon is focused on "Elysium," the super secret project from "District 9" director Neill Blomkamp, which he says is "going really well" and has forced him to rock that very bald head. So, why a bald head? He simply had this to say: "Ask Neil Blomkamp; he's a very visual guy and this was a part of his idea."

Are you disappointed that Matt Damon won't be back as Jason Bourne in the franchise's fourth outing, even in a cameo? What do you think of the Oscar winner's new bald look for "Elysium" -- into it, or not so much? Tell us in the comments section and on Twitter!
