The Hollywood Reporter has learned that director Christopher McQuarrie is testing those three actresses for the latest Cruise-starring flick, “One Shot.” A casting announcement is expected within the next few days. “One Shot,” an adaptation of Lee Child’s 2005 crime novel, marks the first time Cruise and McQuarrie have worked together since 2008’s “Valkyrie.”

Patrick Wilson Joins “Prometheus”
Just because a new big league actor has joined “Prometheus” doesn’t mean we’re any closer to finding out what that movie is about. The Playlist has confirmed that “Watchmen” star Patrick Wilson is the latest actor to join the star-studded cast. “Prometheus” is filming now, and will hit theaters on June 8, 2012.
Craster Heads To “Game Of Thrones”
Another major player has been cast in the second season of “Game of Thrones.” The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Welsh actor Robert Pugh has come on board as Caster, one of the men north of the wall that Jon Snow encounters. His storyline is entwined with Gilly’s, whose role was recently filled by Hannah Murray.
“Riddick” Begins Casting
The long-awaited second follow-up to “Pitch Black” has finally begun casting, Moviehole reports. Casting director Anne McCarthy, who cast both “Pitch Black” and “Chronicles of Riddick,” is apparently bringing actors in to test for supporting roles in the David Twohy flick. So far the four roles up to be cast are Boss Johns, Santana, the sexy female marc Dahl and the smug commander Krone.
Chris O’Dowd Gains “The Sapphires”
“The IT Crowd” leading man Chris O’Dowd has joined Aussie musical “The Sapphires,” Variety is reporting. The comedian, who was most recently seen in “Bridesmaids,” will join actresses Deborah Mailman and Jessica Mauboy in the musical adaptation of the Australian stage production of the same name. “The Sapphires” begins filming later this month in Syndey.
