Olivia Wilde Flirts With Porn Star Linda Lovelace Biopic

Olivia Wilde as porn star Linda Lovelace? If that doesn’t set off some alarms in your head, you might not have a pulse!

“It would be a tremendous honor,” Wilde told E! Online of the possibility that she might star in a biopic from Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman about the “Deep Throat” star. “It’s such a cool role. She was a fascinating woman—with where she came from to ’Deep Throat’ to then working with Gloria Steinem and Nora Ephron. It’s really fascinating.”

Nothing’s confirmed yet, but if Wilde takes on the role, she’ll be the second Hollywood star taking a big-screen shot at Lovelace; “Watchmen” actress Malin Akerman is starring in a separate biopic about the topic.

The Gangster-1000
Liquid metal enthusiasts, unite! It’s unfortunate that “Breaking Bad” badass Bryan Cranston has stepped away from “Gangster Squad,” but his replacement is no slouch. Variety reports that the T-1000 himself—aka Robert Patrick—has closed a deal to take on Cranston’s role as an LAPD officer from Texas.

“Pacific” Dafoe
In equally awesome casting news, it looks like Willem Dafoe is going to have a role to play in “Pacific Rim.” Variety reports that the “Spider-Man” bad guy is in early talks to play “a rogue scientist with expertise on alien creatures,” which more or less sounds like the most perfect fit possible. Rob Kazinsky has also joined the cast as “a member of the team trying to defeat the invaders.”

Dawson In A “Trance”
“Sin City” star Rosario Dawson is taking on the female lead in “Trance,” the next movie from Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle. The “Slumdog Millionaire” filmmaker has also cast Vincent Cassel and James McAvoy in the art heist thriller, Deadline reports.

“Stoker” Updates
Two new casting additions to “Stoker” to report today: “X-Men First Class” star Lucas Till is joining the cast of Park Chan-wook’s thriller, according to The Wrap, while Deadline reports that Oscar-nominated Jacki Weaver has snagged a role as well.
