It is being directed by first time writer/director Crispian Mills, who is best known for his musical career.

Jason Bateman To Lead "We Are The Millers"

Finally, the long in production comedy "We Are The Millers" has some life in it again: Jason Bateman has signed on for the leading role. Pajiba has learned that the "Arrested Development" star has joined the comedy -- being described as "National Lampoon's Vacation" meets "The Hangover" meets "Horrible Bosses" -- which will be directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber. This will be the first time the actor and director will have worked together since "Dodgeball," though Pajiba is saying that Bateman's character will be much, much meaner this time around.
