Edward Norton ‘Bourne’ Again, ‘Bridesmaids’ Star Becomes ‘Imogene’

Looks like we’ll see something of an “Avengers” throwdown on the set of “Bourne Legacy.”

Edward Norton, who previously played Bruce Banner in Marvel’s “Incredible Hulk,” is in negotiations to join the Matt Damon-less continuation of the “Bourne” franchise as the film’s antagonist. He’ll star opposite leading man Jeremy Renner, cast as Hawkeye in “Avengers,” giving the two actors a chance to slug it out on the big-screen, as they won’t have that opportunity in Marvel’s superhero team-up movie; Norton was famously booted from the Hulk role, with Mark Ruffalo coming in to take his place.

Get the rest of today’s casting news past the jump, including new additions to “Rock of Ages” and a brand new passion project from “Bridesmaids” star Kristen Wiig!

Kristen Wiig Lands “Imogene”
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you should know that Kristen Wiig is hot right now. It’s that popularity that Variety is citing as being the reason that she’s gotten her new indie, “Imogene,” off the ground. Production is scheduled to start on Wiig’s passion project on August 8 in NYC with Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini at the helm.

Nerdy Stars Flock To “Robot And Frank”
Collider reports that Liev Schreiber, Liv Tyler, James Marsden and Jeremy Strong have joined the previously announced Frank Langella and Susan Sarandon in the indie “Robot and Frank.” The film is shooting right now in New York where Langella plays a lonely man named Frank whose kids, Tyler and Marsden, buy him a robot to take care of him. No word yet on when the movie will hit theaters.

Josh Brolin For Spike Lee’s “Oldboy”?
Twitch has heard some speculation that Josh Brolin might be the lucky man who gets to headline Spike Lee’s recently-confirmed remake of “Oldboy.” The remake is said to be similar to Martin Scorsese’s take on “Infernal Affairs” with “The Departed.” Brolin’s involvement is far from confirmed, but the rumor is that production company Mandate is ready to put an offer out for the “True Grit” actor.
