In brightest day, in blackest night, no evil shall escape my puppet. Wait... that's not how it goes...
Forgive the confusion — it's got nothing to do with a lack of comic book know-how, and everything to do with the new teaser trailer for "The Muppets." That's right, the endless parodies from Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear and the gang have continued strong right through this weekend's biggest release, "Green Lantern."
Watch for yourself in the teaser trailer past the jump!
I gotta say, I do love the idea of Kermit floating all across Space Sector 2814 with Green Lantern Corps membership fully in place. I mean, just imagine the crazy constructs he'd come up with; he'd put Hal Jordan to shame immediately! But that said, I also have to agree with Jason Segel's tongue-in-cheek comments towards the end of the teaser. This is the third bizarro world trailer we've seen for "The Muppets" so far. From that very first cute (but confusing) teaser to the second spot that parodied "The Hangover Part II," and now this one lampooning the Ryan Reynolds-starring DC Comics adaptation... well, I'm not trying to hate. Just saying, it'd be nice to get a better sense of the latest "Muppets" adventure in and of itself.
Still... I would not complain in the slightest if we got a two-hour "Green Lantern Corps" movie starring only the Muppets. If that's what we're in store for come November, you can sign me up right now.
