'Transformers: Dark Of The Moon' Trailer Analysis: Decepticons, Destruction And... Frances McDormand?

Despite any reservations you may have had, you gotta admit: that trailer for "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" looks frakkin' good.

Early footage from the film already had us excited for this next installment in the "Transformers" series, but now we have an even better sense of where the movie's headed. And since we've watched the video at least a dozen times since it premiered last night, we figured we'd break down for you guys exactly why you should be looking forward to this flick come July 1.

Frances McDormand getting in on the conspiracy? Check. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley keeping up with the boys? Check. A whole lot of robots destroying a city and beating the crap out of each other? Check and check. Click on after the jump to see our favorite parts of this trailer.

The Dark Of The Moon

The first teaser for "Dark of the Moon" set up the fact that the whole Neil Armstrong landing on the Moon global event was really just a cover-up for the US to investigate a weird crash landing on the Moon. They probably should have tipped us off then that some dangerous alien robots were buried beneath the Moon's surface...

Frances McDormand Rocks

If you love movies, you probably have a soft spot for Coen brothers regular Frances McDormand. Fortunately for us, she's in "Dark of the Moon" and makes an appearance (finally) in this theatrical trailer. So what if she's been covering up a government conspiracy that could lead to our planet's demise? At least she'll be a badass doing it.

The Action Looks Better Than Ever

Say what you want about the "Transformers" franchise, but the CGI in this film looks good. All the Transformers look absolutely fantastic, and when the trailer isn't showing off how great their transformations are, it's showing off how great the cinematography looks on a whole. Then there's this guy. And those action sequences? We're getting chills thinking about them.

Rosie Huntington-Whitely Gets In On The Action

Just like Megan Fox before her, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley isn't a heroine who is going to let the boys have all the fun. Though it does look like there's a lot of Shia Labeouf saving her going on in this trailer specifically, we get the sense that she's going to spend a lot of time keeping up with the boys. Still... can we get some dialogue delivery, please?

Humanity Is Doomed

The Autobots have fought Decepticons on Earth before, but this time the playing field is a bit different. This time, the Autobots are fighting to protect Earth from total annihilation, and if the mass amounts of destruction and sense of impending doom from the trailer weren't enough of a clue for you, it looks like it might be a battle that we won't win.
