Jeff Bridges Eyes 'R.I.P.D.' And Guy Pearce Seeks 'Prometheus' In Today's Casting Call

Jeff BridgesTalk about having some major range: Oscar-winner Jeff Bridges will go from "Crazy Heart" to "Tron" to "True Grit" to, possibly, the zombie comedy "R.I.P.D."

According to Deadline, Bridges is in talks to star opposite Ryan Reynolds in the movie about a squad of undead police officers. The comedy, which is based off of a comic, has Robert Schwentke at the helm. If Bridges were to step in, he would be taking over for Zach Galifianakis, who dropped out from the project due to scheduling issues. Honestly though, who wouldn't abide by the law if The Dude was on the undead force?!

Check out the rest of today's biggest casting news from Hollywood and find out who might be appearing in "Prometheus" and which Academy Award-winner will be team up once again with Sasha Baron Cohen!

Guy, Is That You?

CHUD reports on an anonymous email from a supposed on-set source from the Ridley Scott film that Guy Pearce has climbed on board and has been on the set multiple times. Would Pearce make for a great addition to this eagerly anticipated project? Of course, but we still have to wait for the official word.

Ben Kingsley Directs A "Dictator"

Variety reports that Sir Ben Kingsley is joining the madness of Larry Charles' bound-to-be-controversial comedy "The Dictator," reuniting with his "Hugo Cabret" co-star Sasha Baron Cohen in a movie about a Saddam Hussein-like ruler. Kingsley has a role as "another Middle Eastern character" who interacts with Cohen's dictator.

Jeremy Renner: Renaissance Man

Just in case Jeremy Renner didn't already have enough on his plate (including taking over for the next phase of the "Bourne" and "Mission: Impossible" movies, as well as starring in "The Avengers") he's now started his own production company. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Renner has formed a company, alongside Don Handfield, called The Combine. The first project The Combine will reportedly take on is a biopic about the legendary Steve McQueen.

The Pride Of "The Rock"

It seems Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is interested in getting a biopic in motion, too. According to Variety, the action star (currently seen in "Fast Five") will be one of the producers attached to an upcoming film about black country music star Charley Pride.

Jane Levy To Join In The Fun With "Size"

Rising star Jane Levy, who recently nabbed her first big screen role in the upcoming "Nobody Walks," could already have her next film lined up. THR reports that Levy is in talks to star in Josh Schwartz's teen comedy about a night of trick-or-treating gone awry called "Fun Size." The film's studio Paramount declined to comment on Levy and the casting.
