'The Dark Knight Rises' Casts Joseph Gordon-Levitt And Marion Cotillard In Today's Dailies

Marion CotillardIf there was still a small part of you that thought that Marion Cotillard and Joseph Gordon-Levitt's casting in "The Dark Knight Rises" as some cruel joke, let those fears officially be put to rest.

Warner Bros. released a statement today announcing that Christopher Nolan's oft-rumored "Inception" collaborators are indeed a part of "The Dark Knight Rises," though not necessarily in the roles you'd expect. Cotillard will play Miranda Tate, a board member at Wayne Enterprises, and Gordon-Levitt has been tapped for John Blake, a Gotham City cop under Commissioner Gordon. Despite that, though, our friends over at Splash Page think Nolan might still be keeping some tricks up his sleeve. They think there's still a chance Cotillard could be playing Talia Al Ghul, and we're betting that there's more than meets the eye to JGL's cop as well.

After the jump, "Fast Six" gets a writer, "Red State" makes a profit, and finally some good news for "Gravity."

Chris Morgan Is On The "Fast" Track

Universal is granting Chris Morgan rights to pen the sixth "Fast and the Furious" movie before "Fast Five" even hits theaters. Morgan, who has written every "Fast" film since the third, has been a key player in the series alongside director Justin Lin. The Hollywood Reporter adds that he also has been signed into a two-year first-look pact with Universal.

Kevin Smith Has Done It Again

According to /Film, Kevin Smith's penultimate film "Red State" has turned a profit without Smith having ever spent a dime on its marketing. All that after just one quick cross-country tour and still six months away from a theatrical release. Plus, Smith's buddy Quentin Taratino recently screened the film and apparently loved it. Congrats, Smith!

"Gravity" To Start Shooting Soon

At long last, Alfonso Cuarón's "Gravity" is ready to start shooting. With George Clooney and Sandra Bullock as the film's leads, "Gravity" has taken its sweet time to begin production, but now The Playlist has news from producer David Heyman that the flick will start shooting at the end of May. Also, turns out Cuarón will be converting it to 3D in post-production.

Christian Bale Meets "The 13 Women Of Nanjing"

Though all of our attention might be on "The Dark Knight Rises" today, leading man Christian Bale has been busy filming the Chinese drama "The 13 Women of Nanjing." /Film got their hands on some photos of Bale in action courtesy of Tianjinwe.com, and we've got to admit, we're liking Bale in his period costumes.

"Gotti" Loses Nick Cassavetes

The upcoming crime drama "Gotti: Three Generations" has earned a lot of buzz recently because of its casting of John Travolta as the titular John Gotti and the rumor that Lindsay Lohan would be coming on board as well, but that might be all for naught. Variety is reporting that director Nick Cassavettes is out of the project due to scheduling conflicts, so we'll have to wait and see what that means for the rest of the film as well.
