'Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 1' Deleted Scene Hints At Harry's True Past

Harry PotterThe first "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1" deleted scene has hit the web, and it's a scene that we've been itching to see since the film landed in theaters in November.

In adapting "Deathly Hallows," the "Harry Potter" team had to condense the opening scene where Harry leaves his Muggle family for the sake of time and pacing, resulting in a quick little opening montage. The change worked well, but it left audiences missing some interesting exposition between Harry and his only living family -- the same people who made his life miserable for the first 10 years of his life.

After the jump, watch the tense scene unfold between Harry and his Aunt Petunia in the Dursley household.

In this deleted scene, Petunia is lamenting the fact that she has to leave her home on 4 Privet Drive, the same house she's lived in for 20 years. Harry re-explains to her the fact she and her family are not safe there with the Death Eaters and Voldemort after him, but she surprises him by snapping, "Do you think I don't know what they're capable of?"

Petunia's knowledge of magic, wizards and the dark arts is something that is explored a lot more in "Part 2," but it's nice to see that look of shock come across Harry's face in this moment. She continues, "You didn't just lose a mother that night in Godric's Hollow, you know. I lost a sister."
