After several months of waiting in the dark with only a few brief glimpses at the bigger picture, Paramount Pictures has finally unveiled the first full-length trailer for "Super 8," director J.J. Abrams and producer Steven Spielberg's mysterious summer throwback movie.
What was already one of the most secretive projects of the entire summer movie season is finally becoming a little bit clearer -- though, thankfully, not too clear -- as we finally have our first good look at what Abrams has in store for us when the Amblin homage arrives in theater this June.
In addition to releasing the trailer, Paramount has unveiled a detailed plot synopsis for "Super 8," confirming some previously rumored but unofficial story elements for the very first time:
"In the summer of 1979, a group of friends in a small Ohio town witness a catastrophic train crash while making a super 8 movie and soon suspect that it was not an accident. Shortly after, unusual disappearances and inexplicable events begin to take place in town, and the local Deputy tries to uncover the truth – something more terrifying than any of them could have imagined."
We'll be back soon with more analysis and reactions to the "Super 8" trailer, so keep checking back throughout the day!
