Rashida Jones is one lucky lady, particularly when it comes to being a part of amazing ensembles.
On television, she's been a part of the crazy talented casts of "Parks and Recreation," "The Office" and "Freaks and Geeks." On the big screen, she's held her own with the guys of "I Love You, Man" and Oscar-winner "The Social Network."
Now, the actress finds herself amongst what is, perhaps, the most sought-after ensemble ever: "The Muppets!" During a recent interview with Jones, the actress told us what it was like working with her old pal Jason Segel (who helped bring the Muppets back to the big screen and co-wrote the movie) and all those iconic characters, particularly Kermit the Frog!
Jones, who starred opposite Segel in "I Love You, Man" and "Freaks and Geeks," told MTV: "It was great working with Jason and a bunch of Muppets. It was surreal and awesome and really fun."
When asked if she found herself talking to the Muppets when the cameras stopped rolling, Jones had no hesitation when she answered, "Oh, all the time." Turns out, the 35-year old had something of a special thing going with Kermit on set.
"I actually... requested Kermit to be off-camera for me... even though he's not a real person," she admitted. "I was treating him like a real person the whole time!"
While Jones may have overstepped her boundaries with Miss Piggy, the actress brought only good news for concerned Muppet purists.
"They have successfully addressed the fact that [the Muppets have] kind of been gone a while and the fact that this generation doesn't really know who they are," she said. "I think they did a great job of balancing what was and what should and will be."
Even more good news: There's a new Muppet! "Walter," Jones confirmed, "He's so cute!"
"The Muppets" is slated to hit theaters in November 2011.
