The cast of Garry Marshall's upcoming ensemble romcom "New Year's Eve" has grown so big, from now on, we're just going to report on who isn't going to be in it. For instance, Tom Hanks is not cast in it. Neither is Kristen Stewart. And neither is Britney Spears.
Give it a week; we're sure one of them will have signed on by then.
But since we aren't here to report non-news (most of the time), Seth Meyers and Jon Bon Jovi have joined onto the cast. The Hollywood Reporter has the scoop on Bon Jovi and Meyers' characters and how they fit into the larger celeb-packed plot.
First up is Bon Jovi, who will be playing a rock star (surprise) and the ex to Halle Berry's previously announced character. He is the "former flame" that she ends up running into at a New Year's Eve party that she's catering — so much for my theory that Ashton Kutcher is her former flame. But maybe potential love interest? I'm holding out on that one.
Then there's Meyers, who will be playing the broke husband of Jessica Biel's character. If you remember, Biel is playing a woman looking to be the first to give birth on January 1 so that she can win a $25,000 cash prize. The two of them find themselves in a heated competition, but then they bond with a dying man staying in the hospital being played by Robert De Niro.
The rest of the cast includes Abigail Breslin and Sarah Jessica Parker as mother and daughter; Michelle Pfeiffer as a frustrated secretary who decide to work on her unfulfilled New Year's resolutions and Zac Efron as the bike messenger who crosses paths with her; Hilary Swank as the producer of the big Time's Square New Year's Eve bash and lastly Kutcher as a man who hates the holiday. Those castmembers whose roles have not been announced are Til Schweiger, Lea Michele, Sofia Vergara and Hector Elizondo.
