When it was originally announced that Danny McBride, James Franco, Natalie Portman and Zooey Deschanel would be starring in a comedic action/adventure fantasy set in medieval times, it immediately went straight to the top of my "films to watch for" list. The red-band trailer for that movie, titled "Your Highness" (yes, it is a double entendre referencing the smoking of weed) is now online... and if you weren't already excited for this movie, you should probably prepare yourself.
Most guys will have signed up for the film once they see Portman's near-naked bottom (trust me, I've read the comments), but for me it was somewhere between McBride's terrible British accent and Portman's total badassery that I knew that this film was going to be amazing. So what if it's "The Princess Bride" meets "Pineapple Express"? Isn't that kind of the point?
The film looks a bit quirkier than I expected, but at least there were the anticipated penis jokes ("Suck it! Suck your own venom!") and smoke-up scenes ("Handle your sh**, Fabious, please"). How these guys managed to convince Universal to make this movie, I will never know, but thank goodness they did.
Hopefully Deschanel gets a bit more screen time than she did in this trailer, and hopefully she went as completely off the wall as the rest of her cast members clearly did. Honestly, I'm at the point where I'll watch anything McBride does (even "Eastbound and Down," which is just about as guy-oriented as "Entourage"), and the rest of this great cast just rounds it out for me. And if Franco can pull off a performance half as good as he did in "Pineapple Express," I'll be a happy camper.
What did you think of the "Your Highness" red-band trailer?
