The news was revealed in a press release from Disney, which acquired Marvel Entertainment last year and is gradually taking over rights to all the company’s properties. Disney will start by distributing writer-director Joss Whedon’s “Avengers” in 2012 and do the same for 2013’s “Iron Man 3″ (Disney paid Paramount Pictures the nifty sum of $115 mil for the rights to these). However, Paramount will still distribute both “Thor” and “Captain America,” which are being released on May 6 and July 22 of 2011, respectively.
