Kevin Kline And Diane Keaton Cast In Lawrence Kasdan’s Latest Film, ‘Darling Companion’

Lawrence Kasdan’s latest project, “Darling Companion,” has acquired a cast full of A-listers for the film he intended as the third in a trilogy that includes “The Big Chill” and “Grand Canyon.” The link between all three films is actor Kevin Kline, who will have starred in each film in the trilogy Kasdan has written and directed.

Diane Keaton has been cast as the female lead in the film, and Richard Jenkins and Elisabeth Moss are cast in two supporting roles. Like the other two films, “Darling Companion” will involve a coming together of several different people who are forced to come together in a time of need.

According to The Hollywood Reporter’s Risky Business blog, the film follows a woman, played by Keaton, who takes in a stray dog to fill the void caused by her distracted husband, played by Kline. However, after her husband loses the dog at a wedding held at their vacation home in the Rocky Mountains, she sets out on a search for her pet.

Jenkins and Moss will be playing people that she meets along the way, which Risky Business said includes several of the wedding guests and “a mysterious young woman” (maybe Moss?). The film is scheduled to start filming later this month in Utah.

Producer Anthony Bregman said in an interview with Risky Business, “Lawrence Kasdan has a rich tradition of making comedies filled with a love of life — and ‘Darling Companion’ has all species of it. This is a movie about the most basic human challenge: to share with each other the higher level of love, companionship and trust that humans share with their pets.”

Is this a film you are looking forward to seeing? What do you think of the four actors cast in this film?
