The summer has barely begun, it's true, but we're already looking ahead to next summer and the joyous celluloid fruits that it will bear. One of the more delicious-looking offerings is "Fast Five," which reunites "The Fast and the Furious" stars Vin Diesel and Paul Walker in another high-speed, custom car-fueled adventure. They'll be joined in next year's movie by a brand new character, a tough-as-nails lawman tasked with bringing the outlaws in, played by the always-entertaining Dwayne Johnson. MTV's Josh Horowitz spoke to the actor recently at the Spike Guy's Choice Awards and he managed to squeeze out a few new details about the character and his role in the story.
"We're gonna introduce a new character into the franchise," he said. "A really unique U.S. Marshal who is hired to hunt and track down Vin Diesel and Paul Walker." Unique? What the heck does that mean?
"He's a former bounty hunter," Johnson explained. "He has a unique group of guys who, when the government has issues in trying to track down and find individuals, they call my character." Other than the government-sponsored bit, it almost sounds a little like the A-Team, doesn't it? I wonder what other "colorful" personalities fill out the rest of the team.
Johnson's not saying, but he's clear on what his orders will be: "I get me and my guys, we're gonna hunt them down, we're gonna track them, we're gonna bring their asses in, we're gonna whip their asses. Not necessarily in that order."
