It has long been rumored that the split would happen. Cast member have even explicitly address the possibility, and on numerous occasions. For many Twilighters, it was a foregone conclusion that “Breaking Dawn” would be split. And so the news should come as no surprise to anyone.
But wait! There’s more!
Captain Obvious also brought news that Geoffrey Rush will be reprising the role of Captain Barbossa in “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.” The man told us that himself in March of last year, news which was further confirmed — to us again — by producer Jerry Bruckheimer in March. Way to stay on top of that news, Variety.
This next one was a little less concrete, but few doubted that it would happen. Vincenzo Natali, who is on a lot of people’s minds now with his latest work of smart sci-fi, “Splice,” has been officially confirmed as the director of a “Neuromancer” adaptation. We spoke to Natali last month about his reported involvement with the William Gibson “cyberpunk” novel and he was quick to point out that nothing was yet finalized. It is now though, as a press release from Seven Arts Pictures reveals that Natali is set to direct and that production will begin in Toronto in early 2011.
Then there’s the last bit: “Transformers 3” will be released in 3-D. Le duh. Director Michael Bay, perhaps realizing the no-brainer nature of that revelation, also went on to say that Shockwave will be the third film’s major villain. Not only will “Transformers 3” wrap up the trilogy that Bay started in 2007… it will also wrap up his involvement. If there are to be any future “Transformers” movies, he won’t be directing them. Look for more on this story right here later today.
