EXCLUSIVE: 'Logan's Run' To 'Be Devised And Shot In 3-D,' Joel Silver Says

Let's be clear here: 3-D, as in conceived and shot from the ground up using 3-D technology. The age of the 3-D conversion isn't quite over, but it is in the process of dying a painful, rasping death. 3-D from the get-go is the new truth. And it's a truth that mega-producer Joel Silver intends to embrace as some of his upcoming projects start to come together.

"I'd like to make 'Logan's Run' [in 3-D]," he said. "It's a movie I've always been intrigued with, excited by. We're writing a script now and that should be a big 3-D movie and it should be devised and shot in 3-D. I think if we can pull it together, then it would be."

"Logan's Run" was only recently confirmed as having a director: Carl Erik Rinsch. He's also booked for "47 Ronin" and "Creature from the Black Lagoon" remakes, as well as an adaptation of his short film "The Gift," so we'll see which comes first.

Silver also still has his eye on a particular DC Comics adaptation: "Lobo."

"I want to do 'Lobo' too, and that should also be a 3-D movie," he said. "We're working on the script now a little bit more. We did a test, a very effective test. We're moving forward and I hope we can get that together."
