Razzie Awards Nominations Ballots Arrive, To The Dismay Of Filmmakers And Fanpeople Everywhere

"Up in the Air" is a masterpiece. "Avatar" is the rare film equally brilliant in the eyes of critics and audiences. "The Hurt Locker" reaches a raw emotional nerve unrivaled in the cinema. Yadda, yadda, yadda.

You can only heap on so much praise during awards season before your mind starts contemplating the polar opposites of 2009: the lazy, uninspired and just plain awful movies. Thankfully, the Razzies are here once again to pay tribute to the worst of the worst — and fans of "Twilight," "Transformers" and the Jonas Brothers seem unlikely to be amused. With the 30th annual Golden Raspberry Awards on the way, MTV News has received its nominating ballot, a document that allows the organization's 600-plus voters to mark their choices for nominees. Although write-ins are permitted, the Razzie ballot makes strong suggestions for certain movies, and their presence on the form gives us a good indication of which films will be considered the worst of the past year.

"The Twilight Saga: New Moon" seems to be leading the charge, with appearances under the Worst Screen Couple ("Kristen Stewart & either Robert Pattinson or Taylor Whatz-His-Fang"), Worst Screenplay, Worst Director (Chris Weitz), Worst Sequel, Worst Supporting Actor (Taylor Lautner or RPattz) and Worst Picture.

Out of the 612 films released in 2009, two other high-profile blockbusters seem to be in the Razzies' crosshairs, and both are based on toy lines. "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra" and "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" (which the tongue-in-cheek ballot refers to as "Trannies, Too") dominate the listings. Both are mentioned under Worst Screenplay, Worst Director, Worst Sequel/Remake, Worst Supporting Actor (Ramón Rodriguez, John Turturro, Dennis Quaid and/or Marlon Wayans), Worst Supporting Actress (Julie White, Sienna Miller), Worst Picture and Worst Screen Couple (Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox or "Any Two Buffed Up, Bone-Headed Good Guys" from "G.I. Joe").

Other Razzie targets include the Jonas Brothers (Worst Screen Couple, Worst Actors for "The Jonas Brothers 3-D Concert Experience"), Beyoncé (Worst Actress for "Obsessed"), Sandra Bullock (Worst Actress, "All About Steve"), Christian Bale (Worst Actor, "Terminator: Salvation"), Billy Ray Cyrus (Worst Supporting Actor for "Hannah Montana: The Movie") and the films "Pink Panther 2," "Transylmania" and "Land of the Lost."

Stay tuned, as the ballots are due by the end of this week and nominations will be officially announced February 1. Winners of the 30th annual Razzie Awards will be notified (and/or consoled) in a ceremony on March 6.
