'Avatar' Director James Cameron Bemoans Hollywood's Superhero Overload

FROM SPLASH PAGE: When MTV News sat down with "Avatar" filmmaker James Cameron ahead of this week's "Behind The Screen" special (Wednesday, 4 PM EST), his blockbuster 3-D film and the new footage from it that we're revealing during the special weren't all that was discussed. Yesterday, we brought you an update on "Battle Angel Alita," Cameron's planned adaptation of the popular manga series, and now we have some thoughts from the filmmaker on a subject near and dear to our hearts here at Splash Page HQ: superhero movies.

"I've sort of made it pretty clear that Spider-Man was the guy I liked when I was a kid and I wasn't too interested in the others," Cameron told MTV News when asked if he's ever been approached about characters other than Spider-Man. (The director previously voiced his desire to bring Marvel's famous webslinger to the big screen during this year's Comic-Con International in San Diego.)
