Expect great things from "The Lovely Bones," adapted from Alice Sebold's 2002 novel by Peter Jackson (who also directs) and his partners in crime Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens. Saorise Ronan (pictured below) stars as a young girl who is murdered by her neighbor, a serial killer, in 1973. Much of the tale is set in the afterlife, with the murdered girl observing as her family grieves and the killer prepares for his next victim.
The collection of exclusive stills that we have from the film are free of violence, but they show that the "Lord of the Rings" director is still very much committed to creating visually arresting cinema. Click the image below to check out the full flipbook gallery.
