‘Twilight’ Star Billy Burke To Join His Wife And Daughter In ‘Luster’

Twilighters know Billy Burke as the loveable-but-somewhat-clueless Charlie Swan, Bella’s dad in the on-screen saga. But the veteran actor has never been busier than he is now – with a half-dozen side projects and films currently in some stage of development – and is excited to be bringing his real-life wife and daughter into the mix.

“I did a film called ‘Luster,’ that was being done by friends of mine, and we threw that one together in 3 to 4 weeks,” he said of the indie thriller. “It’s a psychological thriller.”

“My wife is actually in it too,” he said with pride, mentioning his actress spouse who recently released “Fix” opposite Olivia Wilde. “My wife, Pollyanna Rose is in it as well. She plays a crazy movie starlet.”

But one reason why Twilighters may want to keep an eye peeled for “Luster” is that it not only features Burke and his wife, but also marks the movie debut of his 1-year-old daughter. “Bluesy’s in the movie,” he revealed, mentioning the little girl he recently cited as an inspiration for his “New Moon” and “Eclipse” scenes playing dad to Kristen Stewart. “Bluesey’s got a cameo at the very end, they use her as the baby. I think she was like maybe four, five months old at the time.”

As for the film itself, “The story is about a guy with a split personality,” Burke explained. It’s focused on a businessman with a Jekyll-and-Hyde persona caught in a mess of murder, mayhem and madness. “I’m not that guy, but I am one of the characters that he encounters.”

Starring “Revolver” actor Andrew Howard as Thomas Luster, the film should be coming out sometime next year – but don’t expect to see Billy and his wife sharing any tender moments together, along the lines of KStew and RPattz.

“We didn’t have any scenes together,” he said of his wife’s role in the film. And as for the scene with Bluesy, does Billy hope that his toddler becomes the next Sophia Coppola?

“I’ll let her make her own decisions,” he said of the baby cameo.

Do you like it when families appear on-screen together (“Old Dogs,” anyone)? Does that make you more likely to buy a ticket?
