That’s what The Dailies is for. I’m bringing back this column to keep you all abreast of the latest Hollywood happenings that don’t otherwise make it into the news day. Even here, I’ll be sure to miss stuff. That’s where you readers come in. Shout out links in the comments below or Tweet us with the same at @mtvmoviesblog and I’ll do my best to cram the relevant news into the next day’s column. For now, on to the headlines!
— Producers Charles Roven (“The Dark Knight”) and Steve Chasman (“Transporter”) are teaming with Columbia to bring back action hero Remo Williams, who was last played by Fred Ward in “Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins.” There are no details for the new project, “The Destroyer,” but I think it’s fair to say that Ward had better return in some form. (THR)
— “The Hangover” director has firmed up plans for his next project, which will not be his already-confirmed “The Hangover 2.” Instead, Phillips will deliver “Due Date,” which is described as a “road trip comedy” (notably, Phillips also gave us “Road Trip”). “Hangover” star Zach Galifianakis is also confirmed to be stepping into one of two starring roles. (Variety)
— Simon Pegg and Nick Frost have posted their latest video blog from the set of the Greg Mottola-directed, which features a large portion of the cast (Jason Bateman, Bill Hader, Jane Lynch, Seth Rogen, Kristen Wiig, David Koechner and more). (/Film)
— “Hostel” director and “Inglourious Basterds” star Eli Roth talks a little bit about a script he is working on with Wu-Tang rapper The RZA, “The Man with the Iron Fist.” Must. See. NOW. (SCI FI Wire)
