'Buffy The Vampire Slayer' Skates Through Today's eBay Prop-Watch

Hi readers! I hate to harp, but I'm going to hit you with a brief PSA before diving in with today's Prop-Watch post. Just so we're all crystal clear, these posts are not intended for serious collectors. There are numerous online resources you can use to educate yourselves on the art and science of prop collecting. Think of this space as a place to find cool crap, stuff you probably never would buy even if you had a spare $10,000 to drop on something completely frivolous. Got it? I'm looking at you out there in the peanut gallery. Good!

Today's Prop-Watch selection comes from "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." The cool one, from TV mastermind Joss Whedon and starring Sarah Michelle Gellar. This prop was actually worn by Gellar, albeit in only one episode. Not an episode I've seen, but I'm guessing some of you "Buffy" fans will be pretty psyched.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer

"Buffy" ice skates, complete with a specially designed display stand. Sweeeeeet. Gellar's Buffy wore these skates in the second season episode, "What's My Line?: Part 1." The Buffster is out on a date with her pal Angel when a nasty ring-wearing vampire attacks. Scary stuff.

The skates are mounted on a fake block of ice, complete with a laser-etched "Buffy" logo... colored blood-red. The whole setup measures 36cm x 30cm x 38cm. There's no mention of a certificate of authenticity, though the item comes from the well-regarded Prop Shop of London. Provided you're willing to shell out the $2,799 Buy It Now price, you can rest pretty comfortably knowing that you're paying for the real deal.
