Today’s Prop-Watch selection comes from “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.” The cool one, from TV mastermind Joss Whedon and starring Sarah Michelle Gellar. This prop was actually worn by Gellar, albeit in only one episode. Not an episode I’ve seen, but I’m guessing some of you “Buffy” fans will be pretty psyched.
“Buffy” ice skates, complete with a specially designed display stand. Sweeeeeet. Gellar’s Buffy wore these skates in the second season episode, “What’s My Line?: Part 1.” The Buffster is out on a date with her pal Angel when a nasty ring-wearing vampire attacks. Scary stuff.
The skates are mounted on a fake block of ice, complete with a laser-etched “Buffy” logo… colored blood-red. The whole setup measures 36cm x 30cm x 38cm. There’s no mention of a certificate of authenticity, though the item comes from the well-regarded Prop Shop of London. Provided you’re willing to shell out the $2,799 Buy It Now price, you can rest pretty comfortably knowing that you’re paying for the real deal.
