Buzz has been running high for The Asylum's "Mega Shark Vs. Giant Octopus" ever since we unleashed the trailer last week. Let's face it: the sight of an oversized shark jumping out of the water to make a meal out of a passenger jet is about six different kinds of awesome. We aren't the only ones who are excited about this undersea faceoff. MTV's Brian Jacks got on the phone with "Mega Shark" star (and former pop singer) Deborah Gibson to discuss her work in the film and her thoughts on the positive reaction the trailer has received thus far. Needless to say, she is "shocked." She also mentions the possibility of a sequel. Giant, homicidal lobsters? Could happen. Here's a little taste:
The whimsical nature of the film attracted Gibson to the project. "I remember when I got the script, I just thought, 'This is so much fun. I cannot say no to this,' " she recalled. "Which I think is probably what other people sense too. Obviously, the title alone makes people say, 'What?!' And then put my name with that title, and it's an absolute bizarre combo."
