“With this book, I tried to show fans and future directors some of the process that the crew and I went through filming ’Twilight,’” said Hardwicke in a statement. “My challenge was to translate Stephenie’s powerful book and make you feel what she makes you feel when you read her works.”
“Twilight: Director’s Notebook” will retail for $17.99. It’s March 17 release date is timed to coincide with the March 21 release of “Twilight” on DVD.
Hardwicke — the director of such films as “Thirteen” and “Lords of Dogtown” — has seen her “Twilight” movie gross over $340 million worldwide. Her contribution to the franchise will end with the first film. “Golden Compass” director Chris Weitz will take over directing details for the follow-up, “New Moon.”
