Robert Pattinson Drops Out Of New Film, Citing ‘Twilight’ Commitments

Well, today’s big news just went live over at, and it’s something that will probably sadden most Twilighters: Robert Pattinson has dropped out of “Parts Per Billion.”

It’s the long-awaited film that was supposed to pair RPattz with heavy-hitting actors Rosario Dawson, Olivia Thirlby and Dennis Hopper – and supposedly involve a steamy bathtub scene between Thirlby and Pattinson. Now, however, fans’ hopes of seeing the “Twilight” star rub-a-dub-dubbing in the tub have gone down the drain.

What’s even more interesting is that Pattinson’s rep pointed to “New Moon” preparations as the reason why Rob had to clear his schedule for the first quarter of 2009. Which would seem to put him in an interesting situation, as he’s arguably the hottest young actor in Hollywood, but doesn’t have time to make any non-“Twilight” movies!

So, what do you guys think? Put yourself in Spunk Ransom’s shoes and tell us, would you:

A) Drop “Parts Per Billion” and everything else, and keep your focus instead on being the best Edward Cullen you can be in “New Moon” and Eclipse.”

B) Work hard to pick up indie films that are willing to shoot during your brief breaks.

C) Assert your new star status and tell the “Twilight” gatekeepers that you want to sell-out and make massive blockbusters for awhile, so they’ll have have to hold off for a few months while you go play Harrison Ford’s grandson in “Indiana Jones 5.”

D) Quit acting, grow your hair long again, and just sit home all day running your fingers through it.
