It's difficult to come up with a cast more ridiculously badass than "13," which finalized its A-List pics yesterday. But here's one movie that is going to try -- and the main man is probably worth two or three of the "13" cast combined.
According to Variety, the iconic Sylvester Stallone will join Jason Statham (who is apparently in every other film these days) and Jet Li in "The Expendables." In addition to starring, Stallone will write and direct the film, something that has become standard practice for him at this point in his career. (And really, who's going to tell him no?)
Details on the movie are thin, but the plot follows a team of mercenaries on a mission to overthrow a South American dictator. The filming will be begin in February in Costa Rica and Louisiana, so you can expect a lot of boggy swamp scenes. And given the cast, you can also expect a lot of over-the-top action. Actually, it pretty much sounds like another "Rambo" movie and honestly, I'm not sure that's a bad thing. Who doesn't want to return to the glory days of 1980s action cinema?
Can you ever have enough jungle explosions and gunfights on film? Or are you too tired of seeing Stallone and Statham in shoot-em-ups? Chime in below.
