A few weeks ago, we brought you the news that bad boys Jason Statham, 50 Cent, and Mickey Rourke had joined the thriller "13” alongside up-and-comer Sam Riley.
As if that wasn't an impressive enough cast, they've been joined by two new heavies -- and we finally get the scoop on who's playing whom. According to Variety, Ray Winstone and Ray Liotta are joining the cast, making this one group of guys you wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley -- or, in this case, an underground club.
Unfortunately, that's just what poor Riley does. He discovers an ugly underground sport where the wealthy bet on the unlucky individuals sold into a Russian Roulette-like competition. Rourke will play a convict from a Mexican prison who is sold into the game, and 50 Cent the man employed to escort him to the bloody game.
Winstone will play a man sprung from a mental institution to join in the fun, and Statham will play a wealthy British man who bets on the competition, and has a particular interest in the fate of one of the players. Liotta plays a cop on the trail of such illegal activities, and who uses Riley as his way into the circle.
"13” definitely sounds like a pretty hardcore movie, and the cast is one that doesn't pull any punches. It might be worth the ticket just to see who will win in the inevitable showdown. Imagine this as one big cage match -- who do you think would win?
