“I think I can be the next Bond girl,” the singer and actress laughed when we caught up with her recently at the Toronto Film Festival.
For now, of course, Keys will have to settle for co-creating with White Stripes frontman Jack White the kick-ass opening number in “Solace,” which I cannot mention without also mentioning that it’s the worst movie title in history.
So what to expect from the Keys & White tag-team? A soulful arc, Keyes said.
“It’s like this crazy kind of energetic hard song with valleys and peaks,” she said. “It has Memphis Horns on it. It’s a great mixture.”
Talking to MTV News last month, “Another Way to Die” collaborator Jack White had high praise for the 27-year-old pianist. While the feeling is certainly mutual – Keys said of their team-up that their “energy together is crazy” – the R&B singer saves her highest praise for, well, for Bond himself.
“I can tell you that it’s damn good,” Keys said of the upcoming movie, which she got to see early. “I’ve never seen a movie with a car chase, a boat chase, and a plane chase all in the same flick! It’s really good!”
Keys said she and White just recently finished the video for the song.
What’s the best Bond song ever? Obviously “Live and Let Die” right? Will “Another Way to Die” challenge the throne? Could Keys be a Bond girl? Sound off below.
