It’s days like this that I really, really love my job -- days when you get to drive around Hollywood in a $250,000+ car. See, I'm a bit of a nerd when it comes to cars. We prefer the term “car buff,” though. And as a Brit, there is no car nearer to my heart than an Aston Martin, a true legend on the road.
Anyway, while out here working on the MTV Movie Awards, I happened to strike up a conversation with a very cool gentleman -- Mr. Michael Artone, the general sales manager of Aston Martin here in the U.S. (a.k.a. THE MAN) and the guardian of a particular specimen of pure beauty: the Aston Martin Vantage.
Mr. Artone and I talked cars for a while (he loves cars as much as I do, especially AM's) and I finally said to him, jokingly, that I'd received a lot of perks in my job, but what I really wanted was ride around in the exact car that James Bond drives: an Aston Martin DBS.
(Check out more photos of Tim and the Aston Martin after the jump!)
Mr. Artone told me that it was mine for the taking if I wanted (on loan of course). He said that no self-respecting subject of the Queen (a Brit) should cruise L.A. in anything less than the best. Ask anyone, I know my cars, and trust me when I say this: I would take an Aston Martin over a Ferrari or Lambo any day. It’s literally my dream car, and the ultimate set of wheels, in my opinion. If it’s good enough for James Bond, it’s good enough for me! So I just got a serious upgrade on my wheels for the rest of my trip.
Later that day I was driving down Rodeo Drive with the top down and music blasting in this quarter-of-a-million-dollar work of art on wheels when I noticed two hot blondes checking me out. Or was it the car?
Ah, who cares -- I'm living the life ...
