“I have a movie with Samuel L. Jackson coming out in the fall called ’Cleaner,'” the wide-grinning actress told us recently. “It’s an amazing movie, and I love it.”
Directed by action veteran Renny Harlin and co-starring some heavy-hitters (Ed Harris, Robert Forster), hotties (Eva Mendes) and hallowed character actors (Luis Guzman), the flick picks up on the Cleaner mythos crafted in flicks like “La Femme Nikita,” “Fiction” and “Point of No Return” – giving one his own movie for the first time.
“There is a murder mystery thing going on,” Palmer said excitedly. “I play [Jackson’s] daughter in the movie. Basically, it’s about a murder that happened, and we are trying to key some things together … it’s a thriller.” In actuality, Jackson’s character is more of a Cleaner along the lines of the cult-classic “Curdled,” working with the cops rather than organized crime. But when his character finds himself unknowingly covering-up a murder scene, he ends up on the wrong side of the law.
“He’s an ex-cop who becomes a cleaner because he had to separate his life from being a cop,” she revealed. “It’s because of some [bad] things that happened to him.”
After years of watching the original bad motherf–ker dispatch bodies, it might be refreshing to watch him clean a few up for a change. In a few short months, it sounds like we’ll get the chance.
