J.K. Rowling’s New Book Proves She’s A Directioner

This just in: J.K. is a Niall girl!

Good news, Directioners and Potterheads: your worlds have unexpectedly but thrillingly collided, thanks to the recent revelation that famed “Harry Potter” author J.K. Rowling is a One Direction stan. Or at least, one of her characters is.

On Monday (Nov. 9), a fan on Twitter shared a pic of a page from “Career of Evil,” the third book in the “Cormoran Strike” series, which Rowling wrote under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith. In the excerpt, Detective Strike and a character named Hazel discuss a girl who claimed she was dating someone named Niall (an obvious nod to 1D’s resident Irishman, Niall Horan).

“They’re a band that came third on 'The X Factor,'” Hazel explains to the pop culture-illiterate detective after mentioning One Direction. “She’s obsessed — she was obsessed — and Niall was her favorite.”

There you have it: Rowling is officially a Niall girl.

While this fun pop culture reference is sure to make One Direction fans want to pick up the book, just be warned: “Career of Evil” follows the mystery surrounding the murder of the fictional Niall stan in question, Kelsey. But hopefully knowing she was a 1D fan will make you even more eager for Detective Strike to capture her killer. Justice for Directioners!

On another note, does this mean we can expect a Harry Styles/Harry Potter crossover story anytime soon? They ARE our two fave British Harrys after all (no offense to the Prince).
