Jenelle Evans Files For Divorce From Courtland Rogers

Jenelle Evans' marriage to Courtland Rogers is one step closer to officially coming to an end, the "Teen Mom 2" cast member's attorney confirmed to E! News on Friday.

"Jenelle is only seeking a divorce from Mr. Rogers at this time," Dustin R. T. Sullivan said in a statement shortly after the filing. "She is not seeking any support of any kind. She is looking forward to a new chapter in her life."

While Jenelle didn't acknowledge the news directly (besides re-tweeting a link to the E! story), she took the time to thank her fans for "all the love and support," adding, "love u guys."

After a whirlwind romance, the mom to four-year-old Jace announced her engagement to Courtland in November 2012, and the duo said "I do" one month later, but the relationship was rocked by tough times from the get-go. During the Season 5 premiere, it was revealed that her husband was sent to jail for drug-related charges, and shortly afterwards, Jenelle discovered she was pregnant. She hadn’t been clean from heroin for very long, and it was becoming abundantly clear that their union wasn't going to last, so with her mother Barbara's support, Jenelle came to the difficult decision to get an abortion.

Jenelle discusses her initial attraction to Courtland and the demise of their relationship:

Now that Jenelle and Courtland's year-long separation (a requirement in her state of South Carolina) and filing is complete, the 22-year-old will soon be free to tie the knot with boyfriend Nathan Griffith. The couple is expecting a son in July, and judging by Jenelle's recent Instagram snapshots, the two are happier and stronger than ever.

The smiling pair do "everything together."

“We’re not engaged yet or anything, but soon we might be,” Jenelle said in the “Teen Mom 2 Featured Moment” below. “We don’t want to make the wrong decision, and at the same time, we don’t want to give the image out that ‘Jenelle’s still married and now she’s engaged.’”

Jenelle and Nathan share their thoughts on getting hitched:

With her marriage almost legally over, the parents-to-be can now seriously consider becoming Mr. and Mrs. Griffith. Do you think they're ready to wed? Sound off in the comments!
