A "Boy Meets World" family reunion.
Cory Matthews without Shawn Hunter is like Batman without Robin, so when Rider Strong blogged that he had no desire to star in the upcoming "Boy Meets World" spin-off, "Girl Meets World," many old-school fans of the franchise felt like a piece of the puzzle would be missing. However, evidently Strong had a change of heart, because the Disney Channel announced Tuesday that Cory's BFF will definitely be back to reprise his iconic role. And....exhale. All is right with the world again.
Entertainment Weekly reports that Strong is set to return for a special holiday episode in which two other familiar faces will make an appearance: Cory's mom and dad (Betsy Randle and William Russ). And with Lee Norris, who played Stuart Minkus, and William Daniels of Mr. Feeny fame also confirmed as Season 1 guest stars, the series is shaping up to be an ongoing family reunion of sorts. All we need is Eric Matthews to close the circle! Hey, we did spot Will Friedle on the "GMW" set not too long ago... Fingers crossed the sound of Eric's epic "Fe-he-he-nay!" call will soon be resurrected.
