For most 22-year-olds, stress comes in the form of college exams, job applications and friend drama, but for Kailyn and Leah of "Teen Mom 2," it's a whole different story. Before getting pregnant in high school, neither imagined they’d be caring for multiple children in their early 20s, co-parenting with an ex and alone most of the time because their husband works far away. Both girls love their families more than anything, but it’s a lot to take on, as they both pointedly explain in the "Teen Mom 2 Featured Moment" clips below.
"I am staying at home with three kids, looking into Adalynn's eyes and seeing you, even though I don't talk to you," Leah says to Jeremy in the first video as they candidly discuss how his job affects their marriage.
Kailyn and Javi share a similar conversation in the second video. "We fought all the time when we were apart," Kail admits, to which Javi adds, "Yeah, it was getting to the point where I was lonely. I was just by myself in a hotel room."
No one is ever completely prepared for the curveballs life throws at them, but by becoming parents as teenagers, Kailyn and Leah had to grow up quickly and missed out on a phase when they could focus on themselves and ease into adulthood. Your twenties are an important time of self-realization and learning, and while stressful in their own way, it’s a totally different type of added stress when you’ve got young children. If that doesn’t sound like the kind of thing you’d like to add to your plate quite yet, make sure to protect yourself from getting pregnant before you’re ready.
