Scientific breakthroughs in human fertility are constantly redefining what it means to be a family, and when "Generation Cryo" premieres on November 25 at 10/9c, we'll follow 17-year-old Breeanna on her quest to meet her biological father -- an anonymous sperm donor -- as well as her 15 half-siblings. Before joining Bree on her journey of self-discovery and modern family bonding, we're giving you a weekly peek at some of the video-diary entries she taped along the way.
The prospect of asking half-sibling Jonah for a DNA sample left Breeanna pale with worry in her first "Generation Cryo" Road Diary, but in this week's video, she can finally exhale. After returning home from lunch, during which she asked Jonah for a mouth swab that could potentially link them to their sperm donor father, Bree says she's happy to have discovered that Jonah's more on board with tracking down #1096 than she originally assumed.
"I think he seems a little more interested in it than he, kind of, puts off," Bree tells the camera in the privacy of the bathroom. She says she's not surprised that Jonah seemed indifferent to her quest when she first met him, and adds that she can identify with his potential motive for keeping any curiosity at bay. "In all honesty, for those of us who have another parent who's not biologically connected to us, it's more like trying to protect that person," she explains. Sounds like Jonah might need to hash out this topic with the man who raised him before he gets any more involved.
