Much of “The Challenge“’s entertainment value is the drama that erupts off the field, but “Rivals II” includes some incredible competitors whose moves keep us on the edge of our seats, too. Each week, we’re pointing out the highs and lows of every mission, so you can watch each triumph, and each COMPLETE AND UTTER FAILURE, on a loop forever and ever. You win some, you lose some…
Pretty crazy premiere, eh “Challenge” fans? With an old flame potentially rekindling and a fight that’s already turned the house pool red with blood, this crew of foes wasted absolutely no time getting back into the swing of things. But it was the first mission and elimination round that really gave us a sense of who stood where, and which teams are in this thing for the long haul. Some soared high and others fell flat, but there were two moments that made the state of the game pretty clear. Take a look at Episode 1’s mountains and valleys.
WIN SOME: Kenny Santucci might not be scared of Tyrie, but if we were Derek and had been tasked with barreling through a bull just to stay in Thailand, we wouldn’t exactly look forward to it. However, instead of plowing into Tyrie and clawing his way to the bell in the very first Jungle, Derek played it smart, saw an opening in the enclosed hallway and zoomed past the other three competitors to snag a big win. Pretty impressive!
LOSE SOME: While each female team made the game’s first mission look like a cake walk, it didn’t take long for Dunbar to sour the batter with a leap that wouldn’t have even cleared the next hop-scotch box. Better luck next time, pal.
