Jillian Rose Reed as Tamara takes a selfie with Season 3 boyfriend Jake Rosati, played by Brett Davern.
We can all look back on our teen years and find something to cringe about (coordinating the color of our braces with our clothes comes to mind...), but luckily, there's always someone who cops to having an even more "Awkward" adolescence than our own. Today, that person is the lovely Jillian Rose Reed.
In an interview with Celebuzz, the actress reveals that she spent her teen years being even quirkier than her on-screen counterpart, Tamara. "[I was] pretty much over high school," JRR says. "I couldn't wait to get back to work in L.A., so I just gave up trying to impress people and wore sweatpants every day. It was probably pretty gross." You say gross, we say comfy!
While her schleppy attire may not have landed her many dates, Jillian still had her eye on a special someone, but he wasn't much of a Jake or Matty type. In fact, the peppy redhead admits the object of her affection knew more about frosted tips and synchronized dancing than muscle cars and football. "My first celebrity crush was Lance Bass. I get that it's funny now, but in the 90s, he was totally crush-worthy." No shame in diggin' the Bass, Jillian -- just ask Danielle Fishel!
