From 'Nitro Circus' To NASCAR, Travis Pastrana Talks Being The Newbie On The Track [Video]

When basketball legend Michael Jordan traded in his high-tops for cleats to give baseball a shot, the transition proved to be pretty rough, but BMX pro-turned-NASCAR driver Travis Pastrana, who just placed in the Top 10 for the first time since his second career kicked off, is ready to make a name for himself burning rubber.

"I'm the underdog," Travis tells ESPN. "I'm the guy everyone is expecting to fail." The dad-to-be became the face of extreme sports with shows like "Nitro Circus Live," but is committed to his new spot behind the wheel, and says he won't let skeptics stop him. "Right now I'm more passionate about racing cars than I am about freestyle," he says candidly. And though he had a rough start at the races, admitting he "quite frankly sucked," his showing at Saturday's Las Vegas Motor Speedway was nothing short of impressive.
