Mac Miller and Donald Trump: both big fans of hand gestures.
Whoever said "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" forgot to pass along the memo to Donald Trump. After Mac Miller's song, "Donald Trump," made headlines yesterday, the real estate mogul had some harsh words for the "Most Dope" star. "It was just announced that @MacMiller’s song "DonaldTrump" went platinum -- tell Mac Miller to kiss my ass!" Trump tweeted. Yikes, them's fightin' words!
So why is the 60-something billionaire so hostile toward the 21-year-old rapper? In 2011, MTV News reported that The Donald was initially fond of his namesake track, calling Mac the "new Eminem," but the relationship turned sour when Mac declined to share any profit from the song's success. Two years and over a million copies sold later, Trump is still feeling the sting of not getting his slice of the pie.
However, despite the shade thrown their way -- be it from Charlamagne Tha God or Trump -- Mac and his "Dope" buds won't let any hate stop them from celebrating. "YOU did it. Congrats fam for real," Quentin told Mac of the platinum success. You keep doin' you, Mac.
