From Outcast To Crowd-Pleaser, 'Awkward' Takes Home A People's Choice Award!

Who says you can't be the uncomfortable introvert and the most popular kid in town? After earning a nomination for Favorite Cable Comedy TV Show by the 2013 People's Choice Awards nearly two months ago, "Awkward," a favorite of the MTV crowd, has officially walked away with the prize, besting "Hot In Cleveland," "Psych" and "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia." Knocked it outta the park, J-Town!

In a special red carpet presentation tonight, the show (led by Ashley Rickards, Beau Mirchoff and Brett Davern) was presented with the award, which comes after a season in which Jenna Hamilton picked Matty McKibben over Jake Rosati to be her one-and-only. Apparently, viewers were completely on board with the love triangle storyline, and voted for the show until it was the category's clear winner. Point: Palos Hills High!
