MTV Stars Sweep Up Surfboards at 'Teen Choice Awards'

In spite of what the looks like gimmicks pay off! Beau Mirchoff, Pauly D and Tyler Posey all walked away from last night's "Teen Choice Awards" as part of the elite surfboard-carrying club, and for "Awkward" and "Teen Wolf" stars, the edge could have very well come from a couple of well-timed online pleas.

Mirchoff and Posey both took to video-sharing sites in recent weeks to campaign for votes for Choice TV Breakout Star and Choice Summer TV Star, respectively--the former with an original (and terrifying) song and the latter with a marathon of jumping rope. The "Jersey Shore" and "Pauly D Project" standout's choice to leave things up to fate seemed to work as well, though, as he and his blowout snagged Choice TV Male Reality Star for the second year in a row. Closing out the prize-winning frenzy were the full "Teen Wolf" ensemble and all of the jokesters behind "Punk'd," which earned Team MTV its fourth and fifth wins for Choice Summer TV Show and Choice TV Reality Show, respectively.

+ Give these guys your virtual congratulations below, and make sure to check out the night's best red-carpet looks at MTV Style and MTV Act's breakdown of which nominees give back when they step out of the spotlight.
