What's The Meaning Behind Tonight's 'True Life' Music?

If you're a regular viewer of "True Life," then you know that each week the series focuses on a different topic. Some episodes are lighthearted and silly and others are painfully exposing and hard to digest. The point of it all is to provide people with outlets to share their lives in the hopes that they might teach, and possibly even inspire others.

Tonight's episode of "True Life: I Have A Traumatic Brain Injury" did just that. The music you'll hear in the episode is written by Matt McCartie of Theft, who penned the song "Fireworks Explode" for a friend who is also a survivor of a traumatic brain injury. McCartie rerecorded the track specifically for "True Life" to hopefully help anyone that feels broken. The song is is available as a free download below.
