It was a tad bit excruciating to watch Lauren Thomas get torn apart by the panel on tonight's premiere of P. Diddy's Starmaker, so you can only imagine what it was like for her to be on the receiving end of the criticism. On stage. In front of an audience.
Below, Lauren explains why she's got no hard feelings and can't even blame the judges for booting her off the show...
Thanks for watching Starmaker! Pretty brutal, huh? That's the music biz, I guess.
I definitely think that my performance could have been a lot better, but it is what it is. I don't necessarily think that the judges made a mistake; however, I do feel that they didn't have the chance to see half of what I'm capable of. Unfortunately, it's a competition and someone has to be eliminated -- and for that week, it happened to be me. That's just the nature of the game.
I have no regrets about the show. It was an amazing experience, and I became fast friends with all of the cast members. Each of them are so incredibly talented. Even though I was the first girl eliminated, I was still one of the seven females hand-picked by Diddy himself, so that's an honor as it is. No one can take that away from me.
Right now I'm writing and recording songs for my album and just pushing forward with my career. My faith in myself was strong before the show and it continues to stay strong after. My friends, family and fans believe in me and my music, and that's all that matters in the end. God bless and see you at the top!
