Last night the musical prodigies of Making the Band 4 kicked off their concert tour with a Diddy-approved performance at NYC's Hammerstein Ballroom. I spent some time with the groups as they rehearsed for their sold-out show, and I gots to tell ya... these guys earn their keep. Longest soundchecks I've ever sat through! Donnie confided that they pretty much work around the clock, every day, and that he rarely gets more than 1-2 hours of sleep a night. "On an average day, we’ll go from rehearsal early morning until the afternoon," he said. "At this point, I’m also still finishing up my album (coming out August 19), so I’ve been going straight from daily rehearsals to the studio. Sometimes I'm able to grab a bite on the way. With studio hours, you don’t even realize the clock’s moving. I once spent a good 48 hours straight there." Obviously his perfectionist creator/mentor/pimp-Daddy, Mr. Combs, set the bar for the groups' incredible work ethic.
Check out the pics of Danity Kane practicing out of uniform (it's important be comfortable when working such a long day!) and head back here tomorrow for my exclusive interview with Donnie, the golden boy who's ripe for superstardom this summer.
More pics after the jump!
